The World War I (also called The Great War or WWI) was a global conflict between Central Powers including the German Empire, Austro-Hungary and the Ottoman Empire and Allied Powers including France, the British Empire and United States that took place between 1914 and 1918.
Battle[]
After the Sarajevo bombing and the subsequent assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, the Horseman War influenced the militaristic desire of the German Empire, causing war on the continent of Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Towards the end of the war, the United States became involved in the conflict, helping to repel German troops. The soldier Thomas J. Carey III fought during this war. Man of Letters Diego Avila fought in the US Army during this time, driving him mad and seeing only blood and violence in the world, which led him to want to repair it. Another Man of Letters, Louis Hols, used his knowledge during the War to develop surveillance systems behind enemy lines.
Aftermath[]
Germany's defeat led to the emergence of Adolf Hitler. The war again influenced Germany's militaristic desire, and the Thule Society emerged during the interwar period. This leads to WWII.
