At some point prior to November of 2005, Vince and Amanda broke up.
When Sam and Dean Winchester attempted to stop Amanda from getting on flight 424, Dean claimed her sister, Karen Walker, was in hospital after being involved in a car crash but after Amanda admitted she had spoken to Karen beforehand, she believed Dean to be a friend of her ex-boyfriend to which he confessed he was before telling her that Vince was sorry and that he wanted to see her that night and sold the lie further by stating Vince's state was desperate.[1]
