RE: Wiki ManagerEdit
Welcome! I usually just contact people on their walls/talk pages. We generally aren't very demanding of our wiki managers and seldom contact them, but if we need help then we won't hesitate. Our current big issue is a VPN and Global JS using vandal who's trying to guess our passwords. Any help or advice that you can provide would be appreciated. Yeah, I can provide you a list.
- Globally banned:
And Jack3869 claims to have had his password guessed, claiming that it was his username being used as his password. He seems to be atoning and making good edits, but Mgdodl and Dominic were unable to replicate making their passes their username and I'd like your opinion. The vandal tends to use global JS like what's seen here. Is it possible for us to restrict JS and grant it only to trusted and experienced users? Or raise the requirements locally? We generally require users prove themselves. I've given users with 1,000 edits Rollback rights as their first user rights, and only when they demonstrate the intent to work against vandalism, spam, and false information. I generally avoid Discussions like the plague and I was too understand that it has been criticized as flawed. As long as it doesn't replace the forums then there shouldn't be a problem. I have basic skills to police the Discussions feature and a basic understanding of it, but I honestly dislike the feature. Although Fandom making it mandatory pisses me off and I wonder when they'll learn that unhappy customers leave to find something better.
I have no issue with you, of course, but I tend to rant on occasion.
Anyway with Fandom making it mandatory we don't really have a choice unless we want to move the wiki elsewhere and leave Fandom with another dead community like the people at Runescape wiki did. I got a laugh out of that, but I'm a sucker for the underdog.
The Community here can either agree to activate it with a forum discussion or we can wait until Fandom forces it on us. Do you have a timeline for when Fandom will implement it on all wikis? Zane T 69 (talk) 23:36, March 27, 2020 (UTC)
In the future, I'd rather that you didn't interfere in matters of consensus. That was a small portion of our community and mostly the ones with user rights. I'm giving the matter a month because once Discussions are activated they can't be deactivated. Zane T 69 (talk) 01:19, April 5, 2020 (UTC)
- Can you see if User:Ashketchum151 is tied to those users too? They're acting very similar and using similar slander and having similar tantrums. Zane T 69 (talk) 00:54, May 4, 2020 (UTC)
- Hey man you're the one running to mommy every time something doesn't go your way, it seems all you do is undo edits, block users, lock pages, signage, go on witch hunts, etc. What productive contributions do you make here, really? Also, Wobbuffetmax is my brother and I'm using his laptop.
I edit when needed and I enforce the rules. I have 13,000+ constructive edits and helped bring the wikis quality up, I did the tedious grunt work that no one else wanted to do, I prevent edit wars and when I'm suspicious that someone with a similar naming theme, virtually identical behavior, and the same inane and childish slander as a blocked user who doesn't realize that his bratty behavior isn't acceptable and refuses to grow the heck up then, yes, I make a CheckUser request.
I refuse to believe that you have such a similar naming theme to your brother, the aforementioned virtually identical behavior, and that you're sharing your supposed brothers laptop. I'm sick of you harassing users, ignoring our rules and whining when the little prince doesn't get his special treatment, and you dodging blocks with sockpuppets. Push me and I'll aim for global ban; all accounts across all wikis. Grow up or go away. Because you've plagued the wiki long enough... you won't get special treatment and exemption from the rules that everyone else has to abide by. Zane T 69 (talk) 02:17, May 4, 2020 (UTC)
- @Cörey: You can disregard the CheckUser request, it's redundant and the idiot used the same lie that every other sock-puppet user who got caught used. Zane T 69 (talk) 02:19, May 4, 2020 (UTC)
Well there is a lot of blue, but it still looks good. We recently voted on a background though can you remind me of the difference between a theme and background? Zane T 69 (talk) 15:57, May 5, 2020 (UTC)
Honestly, I prefer the theme that we have. I'll admit its been like this for a long time, but with new themes we have to consider the possibility that users who don't involve themselves in consensus won't like it and simply opt for a custom theme to avoid dealing with our new one. All that blue and white isn't appealing to me. Zane T 69 (talk) 18:43, May 5, 2020 (UTC)
- Okay, sorry for bothering you. It looked like IP's were messing with consensus instead of spawning new accounts to agree with their arguments. Zane T 69 (talk) 14:41, May 12, 2020 (UTC)
