Tyler is the son of Libby, a waitress at Plucky Pennywhistle's Magical Menagerie in Wichita Kansas.

Tyler's mother works hard, and often has to bring him to work. His fear, which he draws, is of giant robots with laser beams for eyes. When he complains to Dean about how his mom treats him, Dean advises him to give her a break.
