The Trials of God are a series of tests designed by God himself, in order to seal the gates of Hell or Heaven forever. According to Castiel, Sam's participation in the Trials of God, has affected him at a sub-atomic level.
The Trials to Seal Hell
- 1. Kill a Hellhound and bathe in it's blood. - Achieved by Sam Winchester, in "Trial and Error".
- 2. Save an innocent soul from Hell. - Achieved by Sam Winchester, in "Taxi Driver".
- 3. Cure a demon.
Effects of the Demon Trials:
The demon trials create an extremely dangerous effect on the person as wherein the body and soul are converted and changed causing intense pain while their arms glow a white light, it is possible to speculate that if the trials are stopped after going too far into them that the person can die from the extent of the damage that is on a sub-atomic level.
The Spell to Expel Angels from Heaven
- Cut the heart out of a Nephilim. - Achieved by Castiel (by just stabbing her through the throat), in "Clip Show".
- Obtain a Cupid's Bow. - Achieved by Castiel, in "Sacrifice".
- Remove the grace of an angel that completed the previous two trials and turn him/her into a human. - Performed by Metatron on Castiel, in Sacrifice.
- Note that the above are not actual trials listed in the word of God, but part of a spell.
