When your mother got sick, your grandma told me, she said, "Tess will be alright". She promised me, but then... Tess... She apologized after, said nothing's set in stone, but I couldn't forgive her.

Tess Turner was the mother of Patience Turner.

Tess married James Moseley and bore him one daughter, Patience.

After she fell ill, her mother-in-law Missouri predicted that she would recover. When Tess died anyway, James became grief-stricken and began to denounce his mother as a phony.

Missouri attended her funeral alongside James and Patience.
