Removign Reapers from Angels[]

I just want to point out that since reapers are not angels they should not be under the angel section in the character catagorey.

Featured supernatural artifacts?[]

For the episodes, there is a list of supernatural creatures in that particular episode. Should we do the same for supernatural artifacts(spells, obects, rituals) Thetwindler (talk) 01:32, November 9, 2017 (UTC)

I agree, that would be nice Doctor49 (talk) 01:50, November 9, 2017 (UTC)

Removing Lucifer from Main characters. []

Should we remove Lucifer from the main characters on the front page and on the bar? We did the same to Crowley when he died. Thetwindler (talk) 01:42, November 5, 2018 (UTC)

Thanks for bringing it up. I've replaced him with Nick. Dtol (talk) 16:46, November 5, 2018 (UTC)

Top Bar Suggestion[]

I am thinking that maybe we should add two more demon types to the demon character list at the top bar to make it fuller. Maybe we should also fill up the deity list with 2-3 more deities. I was also thinking we could add a realms bar which would include the empty, heaven, hell, the universe, etc. Thetwindler (talk) 04:24, December 6, 2018 (UTC)

I don't think i have a say in this matter, but i agree, and i also think the wayward sisters bar should be removed since the series was cancelled, maybe add a "media/franchise bar" with the Supernatural series, ghostfacers web series, wayward sisters, anime, comics and novels, as the sub-section of it :v. Doctor49 (talk) 04:42, December 6, 2018 (UTC)

Template: RecurringCharacters on "Seasons"[]

In light of the upcoming prequel spin-off, I think we have to change this portion of the character infobox to better identify which seasons of the respective show the characters appear in. The question is how do we wish to display it. Do you prefer to specify the show+season in the content area (right side)

Caption
Seasons
Supernatural 1-5, 8, 11, 14
The Winchesters 1-(?)

or do you prefer to split the seasons per show on the field title (left side) of the infobox?

Seasons
Supernatural 1-5, 8, 11, 14
The Winchesters 1-(?)

I'd love to hear your thoughts. FTWinchester (talk) 14:03, 23 August 2022 (UTC)

I have a preference toward the first one without a new heading section. Then it would appear in the infobox something like the following. This will presumably only affect a few characters that appear in both series, and this way the infobox template doesn't need to be modified.
Example of both in one field
Seasons Supernatural 1-5, 8, 11, 14
The Winchesters 1
For John and Mary's pages specifically, have you considered sub-pages for their activities in The Winchesters? I've been thinking about this a lot, and I think subpages for them may be beneficial, both for design and keeping pages at reasonable lengths, and for readers on the wiki looking for specific information on the characters as they appear in the new series. The subpage infobox would only need to have information on their appears in The Winchesters, which would also help with clarity.

Ah yes I was going for one without the new heading section as well but the formatting eluded me. As for Mary and John, I don't mind that approach either. It will be like Wookiepedia's Canon vs Legends? Wouldn't Dean need to have one as well since he seems to be appearing as well even though in a limited manner? FTWinchester (talk) 06:59, 7 September 2022 (UTC)
Not sure about Dean, since it remains to be seen how involved he actually is in the story. If he just narrates some parts and there's no story for Dean (which is kinda what it sounds like), then there won't be much to document separately. If there's enough information for a separate page though, then that sounds good to me. Then there's Millie Winchester; since there's so little information on her from Supernatural I'm thinking it could be best to just combine the pages. For subpages, I've made John Winchester/The Winchesters to try out such a page. For Mary, what do you think about using Mary Campbell (currently a redirect) instead of a subpage? – KylaraE  (talk) 23:20, 9 September 2022 (UTC)
I appreciate the reasoning behind the different approach for the above characters--although I have to raise the concern whether this approach is wiser than a uniform approach regardless of how minor a character's appearance is on either the main show or the prequel? It might confuse our contributors. For example, if Rowena or Azazel were to show up in the prequel, that means we would have to discuss and form a consensus about the two characters on how they should be handled, as opposed to easily following a set structure. FTWinchester (talk) 17:19, 12 September 2022 (UTC)
Do you have a preference for a set structure? I'd personally lean toward subpages if it really needs to be strict. We can also come up with general parameters for doing one or the other. – KylaraE  (talk) 22:24, 12 September 2022 (UTC)
Initially, I just wanted to have a fixed format on the character infobox to indicate which series they appeared in (like the Angel/Buffy wiki), but I really like your idea of separate tabs/subpage like how wookiepedia does it (i.e., https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Obi-Wan_Kenobi and https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Obi-Wan_Kenobi/Legends). The subpage format makes it clear they are the same character of the same canon, but segregates the information from the main show and the information from the prequel. I know we used different pages for the anime series but a good explanation is the anime is non-canon, which is why characters of the same name/concept has a completely different page. I do think that this matter should be discussed by more members of the community though. I'm surprised nobody else has weighed in. FTWinchester (talk) 14:22, 13 September 2022 (UTC)
I really like your point that a subpage makes it clear that it's part of the same canon as the main character page, just in a separate series. I'm fully in favor of going with that.
I suspect the reason other community members haven't weighed in may be because they haven't noticed that a discussion is happening. A blog post would probably be better for something like this. Do you want to give that a go? Or I can put something up later if you'd like. You could also make an announcement or put up a site notice if you want a lot of eyes on it.
