Smiting[]

This ability is simply smiting, on a higher level (except Crowley's who just exploded humans - biokinesis more of). Should we change it? SeraphLucifer (talk) 13:35, February 18, 2017 (UTC)SeraphLucifer

  • I'd argue that Smiting is a different power and this is something I've discussed with someone else before creating the page. Smiting is when an angel does the hand on the forehead thing and burns the person from the inside out. The effects of that were mentioned in Goodbye Stranger when they investigated some people that Cas killed during the Hunt for the Angel Tablet. Cas' explanation for this power, I believe to Claire Novak in her reappearance in early season 10 is definitely different than that. He described this as being ripped apart on the subatomic level by an archangel. That's molecular combustion. Its exactly how Piper Halliwell's power works but with more gory effects. Its like how the mass smiting and White Light thing was made into photokinesis. I didn't do that one by the way.--WarGrowlmon18 (talk) 15:49, February 18, 2017 (UTC)
  • Yeah you are right. Good job creating the page. SeraphLucifer (talk) 18:07, February 18, 2017 (UTC)SeraphLucifer
    • Thanks!!! I was a big fan of Charmed and Cas' description of what Raphael and Lucifer did to him sounds exactly like Piper Halliwell's Molecular Combustion power so I thought it was probably supposed to be the same, just gorier. FYI: Molecular Combustion has always been my favorite power from Charmed. Its the one I'd have if I could. Well that and Piper's freezing power, but I like this one better than freezing.--WarGrowlmon18 (talk) 19:24, February 18, 2017 (UTC)
    • I really hate that a Demon has this ability. Why do Angels keep getting pissed on? Dagon made those two Angels look like children. Toe Knee 17 (talk) 22:22, March 2, 2017 (UTC)
      • She's one of the very first demons created by Lucifer himself. Makes sense she'd be mega powerful and those are probably regular low-level angels anyway.--WarGrowlmon18 (talk) 01:15, March 3, 2017 (UTC)
      • Perhaps she has a weapon in her possession that allowed her to kill those Angels so quickly. Didn't Ramiel say something about her having her own weapons? It's just because we've never seen any other Demon with that power, it seems ridiculous. Hell, Abaddon was supposed to be a badass and yet she fled from a significantly weakened Angel. Toe Knee 17 (talk) 23:07, March 3, 2017 (UTC)
        • First, Abadouche is weaker than the Princes. Second, Ramiel never said anything about Dagon beyond her having an interest in Luci's child. Third, she clearly just touched the angels and caused them to combust.--WarGrowlmon18 (talk) 00:07, March 4, 2017 (UTC)
        • Firstly, no shit...? LOL. Kinda missed my point. Never mind. Second, when the heck did I say anything about Lucifer's child? I asked if Ramiel said anything about Dagon having her own weapons, which he did as I watched the scene earlier. Third, I don't think it's beyond the wit of the writers to introduce a weapon (or perhaps a spell) that enables the wielder, wearer or user to kill beings in that way. A weapon of some sort would make more sense than a Demon being able to kill two Angels like that. Toe Knee 17 (talk) 22:49, March 4, 2017 (UTC)
          • First, watch your language, no need to be rude. Second, it might be possible but it doesn't seem likely.--WarGrowlmon18 (talk) 15:25, May 1, 2017 (UTC)
          • Just because Dagon is the first demon to kill an angel using her own powers doesn't mean she requires a weapon. It simply means she is the first demon on-screen powerful enough to kill an angel. Kajune (talk) 15:43, May 1, 2017 (UTC)
            • And maybe not even that since Cain indicated he could easily kill angels. We just never saw him do it.--WarGrowlmon18 (talk) 16:18, May 1, 2017 (UTC)
          • Sorry for reopening this, but was this power ever explicitly described to be such in the show? Because we don't know if angels and demons follow the physical make-up of humans as they are, well, supernatural beings. Vessels they possess clearly are susceptible to molecular combustion but many of the powers listed here completely annihilate powerful beings--far beyond the human vessel. I kind of agree this should just be called smiting (and weirdly enough, I remember bringing this up in the past but somehow I don't see my name in this talk page). FTWinchester (talk) 21:09, June 12, 2017 (UTC)
            • I don't remember you ever posting on here FT. And actually I remember asking your opinion before doing the split between this and Implosion on your own talk page but I don't think I ever got an answer and just went forward, probably with Zane's permission. Its been quite awhile so I really don't remember. And Smiting is clearly different. Goodbye Stranger gave a description of the effects on demons for one thing and Cas told Claire Novak how the power worked on him in The Things We Left Behind. It was clearly different.--WarGrowlmon18 (talk) 00:50, June 13, 2017 (UTC)

Krista[]

How do we know the prophet Crowley killed was Krista? Kajune (talk) 07:47, May 1, 2017 (UTC)

  • I think the other Wiki lists her as Krista. And yes, there are two Supernatural Wikis. The other one has episode transcripts and a Table of Death. Pretty sure I checked that one, either the transcript or the Table of Death before listing it as her.--WarGrowlmon18 (talk) 07:55, May 1, 2017 (UTC)
  • I already checked the transcript. There is no mention that the prophet Crowley killed was Krista. I even checked the episode itself, and IMDb. No name for that specific prophet who was killed. Kajune (talk) 08:07, May 1, 2017 (UTC)
    • Really??? I always got the impression that she was supposed to be Krista. Wasn't there only one or two female future Prophets??? At the very least, she seemed like the most likely candidate.--WarGrowlmon18 (talk) 15:24, May 1, 2017 (UTC)
      • I count two women out of seven people (Castiel gave seven names). Only one of the two women says anything though, but I don't hear anyone uttering a name at that gathering. Names given are Krista and Maria that are female. Kajune (talk) 15:40, May 1, 2017 (UTC)

Molecular Combustion and Disintegration[]

Yes I believe that Molecular Combustion and disintegration should be two different abilities in my point of view so I’d like to ask Everyone what they think. Spnfan079 (talk) 02:13, March 4, 2018 (UTC)

Are you talking about the difference between blood splattering and the special effect MC of the later seasons? JS0662 (talk) 02:15, March 4, 2018 (UTC)

yes. Spnfan079 (talk) 02:16, March 4, 2018 (UTC)

Its clearly just a different special effect. Probably to make it less gory for the audience. We've never been given any sort of hint that they are two different powers other than the differing special effects and that's not enough to make up a speculative power especially since the angels and demons don't disintegrate, they combust. Just minus all the blood and gore.--WarGrowlmon18 (talk) 03:01, March 4, 2018 (UTC)

Lucifer told an angel back in season 11 that

“He who hesitates Disintegrates”

That is why I’m asking. Spnfan079 (talk) 03:07, March 4, 2018 (UTC)

The way how Jack killed Mary[]

Did Jack even use Molecular Combustion to kill Mary, since there was only a black trace left behind ?--Mgdodl (talk) 10:44, December 8, 2019 (UTC)

  • He made the snapping fingers gesture while describing what he did to her and she died instantly. They said that was more of an angelic blast site than anything else.--WarGrowlmon18 (talk) 11:27, December 8, 2019 (UTC)
  • In which episode did he explain that ?--Mgdodl (talk) 12:07, December 8, 2019 (UTC)
    • In Absence he did that snapping motion while explaining to his hallucination of Daddy Dearest.--WarGrowlmon18 (talk) 13:13, December 8, 2019 (UTC)
