"Telepathy"

As often, you're wrong, WarGrowlmon18. Jael only knew so much about those hunters because he had possessed most people there. He says so himself: "I have been inside your heads" - those are his exact words. The only person he knew info about, whom he perhaps did not possess, was Asa's mother. But we can't rule out that he possessed her off screen sometime. If Jael could read people's thoughts without possessing them - an ability NO DEMON had displayed before or would display after - he would have read Sam's thoughts to confirm whether the Lucifer story was true or not. Instead, Jael expresses lack of certainty on the matter - "I desperately want the Lucifer thing to be true" is what he says. It hardly seems he could get inside Sam's head without possessing him.

Now, think about it. If a demon could read people's thoughts without possessing them, then a high level demon would have shown this ability before. Lilith, for example. She would have read the Winchesters' thoughts in order to know where the Equalizer was. She didn't because she couldn't. The Princes of Hell, Cain, Abaddon, Crowley - none of them ever displayed this ability, even though they all had plenty of motivation and opportunity to display such a power. In fact, not even angels and archangels are shown to read people's thoughts just like that. And you think an ordinary crossroads would? I'm sure even you can admit this is rather absurd.

Now, be a good boy and allow edits here again. Or better, revert yourself. SonOfEve (talk) 00:42, January 13, 2020 (UTC)

  • Most of the people there. Not all of them. He specifically said he'd been inside all of their heads. He didn't possess them all but he knew all of their secrets. Hence reading their minds. Such as knowing that Asa's mom sabotaged his jeep and stuff like that. He never possessed her and no one else would've known that stuff that he'd possessed.--WarGrowlmon18 (talk) 01:30, January 13, 2020 (UTC)
    • I was quoting directly from the transcript: http://www.supernaturalwiki.com/12.06_Celebrating_the_Life_of_Asa_Fox_(transcript).
Jael didn't use the word "all" *at any point* when he was talking about people's thoughts. You're confused or plain making stuff up. THE ONLY PERSON whose thoughts he knew but isn't shown possessing is Asa's mother, but as said before it can't be ruled out that he possessed her at some point off screen. She did pair off with Elvis, whom Jael did possess. Plenty happens off screen on the show, after all.
If Jael could read people's thoughts, he would have read Sam's to confirm if Lucifer possessed him, a subject he was very interested about. He would also have taunted Mary for her feelings of guilt over Asa. But he never possessed Sam or Mary, so he couldn't do any of that; if demons had the ability to read people's thoughts like that, we'd've seen someone ranking higher than an ordinary crossroads demon display that ability before.
The evidence for Jael being able to read people's thoughts without possessing them is just too weak and speculatory to warrant mention in the entry.SonOfEve (talk) 13:43, January 13, 2020 (UTC)
