The Strangulation Spells are spells that strangle the caster's victims.

Crowley's SpellEdit

OverviewEdit

As part of his effort to kill everyone the Winchesters had ever saved to force them to stop the Trials of God, Crowley set up this spell to kill Sarah Blake. The Winchesters desperately searched for the hex bag but were unable to find it and Sarah died. Afterwards, the Winchesters discovered that Crowley had hidden the hex bag in the motel room's phone which he had been using to taunt them as Sarah died.

ProcedureEdit

The exact procedure for Crowley's spell which he stated he learned from his mother is unknown. However, the spell required that a hex bag full of unknown ingredients be hidden in the room with the intended victim. It is unclear if this particular spell was time-activated or if Crowley activated it remotely. Once the spell was activated, the victim would fall to the floor, clutching their throat, unable to breathe. The spell would ultimately strangle them to death magically if the hex bag was not destroyed.

Counter-measuresEdit

The spell needs the hex bag to work, and can be broken once it is destroyed.

Sonja's Aramaic SpellEdit

OverviewEdit

In order to kill hunter Sam Winchester, the witch Sonja cast this spell on him, causing Sam to gasp for air. Before Sonja could kill him with the spell, she was interrupted by Melissa Harper who's distraction broke the spell and allowed Sam to grab a gun loaded with witch-killing bullets and kill Sonja before she could harm anyone further.

ProcedureEdit

The spellcaster must recite in Aramaic:

Hay Way Am Wa Mad Wa Dah Mush
Hay Way Mish Ta Nagh Ad Mah Doh Mush

This causes the victim's throat to close up and their neck to turn red as the spell magically strangles them.

Counter-measuresEdit

The spell requires the spellcaster's concentration, and can be broken if they get distracted.
