In Pilot, Slick first appeared to John Winchester in the form of Burly Man to retrieve the keys of the Men of Letters Clubhouse to find the Monster Box, promising to kill him quickly if he grave it to him. After John failed to defeat him, Mary Campbell appeared behind Slick and fought him, eventually throwing him into a vat of holy water and then exorcising him from his deceased vessel. Later, Slick reappears in the body of a young girl and asks for the Monster Box again, repeating his promise to kill John and Mary quickly. Before he can put his plan into action, Carlos Cervantez appears in his van and sends him into a circle of salt that traps him. While he is stunned, Carlos has Slick perform an exorcism through John, thus performing his first exorcism, and saving the young girl he possessed.
