The Seven Deadly Sins are a group of seven demons that appear in the season three episode "The Magnificent Seven". Despite having significant powers, they are only black-eyed demons, though possess special powers unique to themselves. Because of these powers, they were originally prisoned deep in Hell close to Lilith, unable to get out before the gates of hell were opened at the season two finale. They seem to follow their own agenda after Azazel's death, as Pride is disgusted to to think of Sam Winchester as a leader for a demonic army.

The Seven Deadly Sins

Envy

GW150H1004

Envy

Claims that they are not sins but actually "natural human instinct". He possesses the human from Oak Park Chicago Walter Rosen. He approaches a shopper at a clothing store using the persuasion of envy towards a female's shoes which leads her to smashing her face on the windscreen of a red car to death. His visage is captured on surveillance cameras and seen by Dean, Sam and Bobby. He was then researched by Dean Winchester and found to have eaten at a small bar.

Dean, Sam and Bobby stake out at the bar until Walter arrives and enters. Dean and the others are halted when hunters Isaac and Tamara enter half-cocked. Isaac then attempted to enter the restroom following Envy Walter but was subdued by Wrath which brought Envy back to watch his demise. Envy was then broken in by Dean, Sam and Bobby. He succesfully dodged their splash waves of holy water and advanced Dean. Dean pushed Envy into the devil trapped boot of the Impala taking them back to Isaac's house. Envy was then subdued in a chair underneath a devil trap. Tamara performed a violent exorcism after hearing Envy's speech which caused Walter to die in the process.

Lust

GW150H1009

Lust

A beautiful girl in a constant state of lust, with the power to be any girl a guy most lusts. She tries this power on Dean - this appears to have no effect, however. She also survives the possession.

Gluttony

GW150H1008

Gluttony

A Bald, skinny man who uses mind manipulation upon Isaac to make him consume drain cleaner at the sin bar. He is killed by Ruby's Knife at Isaac and Tamara's Home when he and two other sins gang up on Sam.

Sloth

GW150H1006

Sloth

A overweight man who killed a Nebraskan family by making them too lazy to reach the stocked fridge in their home only feet away from where they were seated.

He is exorcised succesfully by Bobby Singer after being entrapped in a Devil's Trap.

The vessel of his possession survived the exorcism.

Wrath

GW150H1005

Wrath

A Bald pierced and tattooed man with the one line said at the sin bar of not liking hunters in his bar, in reference to Isaac and Tamara.

He later possesses Isaac's dead body and uses it to taunt the already anger-prone Tamara into breaking their defenses. He is impaled with Palo Santo and exorcized.

His first host did not survive the possession.

Greed

GW150H10080

Greed

A Tall skinny brunette female who appears at the sin bar and is dowsed with moderate quantities of holy water.

She arrives at the Singer residence with Wrath, Gluttony, Pride, Lust and Sloth but only transcends upstairs in pursuit of Sam Winchester with Pride and Gluttony.

She is killed by Ruby's knife via a stab to the chest.

Pride

GW150H1007

Pride

Claims to be the root of all sin, possibly because it was Lucifer's pride that caused him to try to be better than God. As such he's implied to be there leader, leading Gluttony and Greed on there atack on Sam, and they let him do the talking, as well as responding to his comand to stop.

He engages in conversation with Sam upon pursuing him for being the Azazeal chosen one.

He immediatley senses the presence of a devil trap in the upstairs spare bedroom using immense telekinesis strength to break the trap.

He appears in vessel as a tall suited curly brown haired lawyer.

He is killed by Ruby last following Gluttony and Greed via Ruby's knife through his chin and into the bottom of his skull.

Powers and Abilities

* Ability to Influence Human Behavior- Demonstrated by some of them, each sin can influence a person to do what they represent, although they have to make physical contact to infect the person. Sloth made a family sit on a couch and die of starvation and dehydration, Gluttony made Isaac drink drain cleaner, Envy made a woman kill another one over a pair of shoes, Lust was able to make Dean passionetly kiss her.

  • Possession- Like all demons, they can take control of a person's mind and body. This is obvious as they are in host bodies.
  • Telekinesis- The Seven Deadly Sins can move objects with their minds. Pride demonstrates this by creating a small earthquake to destroy a devil's trap on the ceiling on the floor Sam was on before attempting to kill him.
  • Superhuman Strength and Endurance- Like all demons, they are very strong and can withstand almost anything.
  • Invulnerability- They are invulnerable to almost all weapons, except for Ruby's knife and the Colt.
  • Superhuman Knowledge- All of them posses great knowledge, not just about what they represent, but other things.

Trivia

Despite including the seven deadly sins in Supernatural, it is unknown if the seven heavenly virtues also exist within the same universe.
