Salt Transmutation is the ability to turn any living organisms into salt. It is one among of many signs of godly powers, and normally used to deliver divine punishment to humans.

Characters With This Ability[edit | edit source]

  • Angels (combined) - An assembly of normal angels can combine their energy in a mass smiting. The resulting smiting sickness can reduce humans to salt.
  • Nephilim - Jack was able to effortlessly turn Professor Harrison Tate into a salt pillar, as a demonstration of his power and personal punishment for Tate, for his work against heaven. Unlike Lot's Stone, Jack can also turn someone's clothes into salt.

Objects with this ability[edit | edit source]

  • Lot's Stone - It can turn a humans into a pile of salt when its struck at a human. It can't harm or destroy angelic beings or at least archangels but it can disintegrate the vessel they're using. It should be noted that the stone is not harmful to the wielder. It only turns the body itself into salt, leaving the clothes intact.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • When he snaps at God, Dean comments on how he wouldn't want to piss God off and be turned into a pillar of salt, though God seems to be rather uncomfortable at the idea.
