The residence is the location where witch Rowena lived in an hotel room, as long term occupant.

In the room, Rowena is reading a spell book and has two doormen pinned to the ceiling. Months later, Rowena is aroused from her slumber by a phone call from Sam, who said he looked into the thing they discussed and found a lead, but it's guarded by a violent enchantment and that he needs her help to cast a spell to break the spell. Rowena mentions a disenchantment spell, but clarifies it's not recommended for amateurs and that in inexperienced hands, the disenchantment has a way of fizzling out. She said she would be happy to lend her services, but Sam said he'll take his chances.
Ben, Rowena's boyfriend, is getting violent with her inside the hotel room, until Crowley shows up and kills him. He said she owes him, and that he needs her help tracking Lucifer. At the bunker, Sam said Rowena is needed to lock Lucifer in the Cage, to protect Kelly and her Nephilim son Jack she's giving birth to at the safe house. He calls her, but Lucifer picks up her phone, and informs them he killed her, as he steps over her dead body.
Rowena is conducting a ritual in the middle of the room, using unbinding magic to revitalize her magic to be able to fully tap into it. Rowena captures Sam and tries to force him to use The Book of the Damned or any type of dark magic to bring back her son, and uses every form of magic she knows and all of her spells on Billie to use her control over life and death to do it, but she refuses. As the rescue team goes to Apocalypse World to free the Resistance fighters from Alternate Michael's captivity, Lucifer is being drained of his grace to keep the Rift open, being monitored by Rowena during which time he goades her by reminding her of the time he broke into her hotel room and killed her.
Rowena calls Sam Winchester from her hotel room, who found out something happened to his mother, Mary, and wanted to know more, which she is calling to inform him on, and she tells him that she is no longer on the Earth. Someone knocks on the door, and she answers it, thinking it's Sam, but it's Jack. She asks if he's okay and that Sam and Dean are looking for him, but he tells her not to call them and that he needs magic. She asks what for, and Jack said he killed Mary and that he wants to bring her back. Rowena said the restoration spells she's used on herself have to be pre-prepared and in advance. Jack asks what about The Book of the Damned, and Rowena said it does contain a spell, and that the spell was designed by Agnes to break death. She said all of the ingredients should be easy to come by and handy in the Bunker, and Dean knocks on the door and Jack teleports himself and Rowena away. Dean stresses that now Jack's got Rowena and The Book of the Damned, and that Castiel should've told them from the time he killed the snake and that something was off with him. Sam said it's not just about that, that Dean warned him in the beginning that taking Jack in had its risks, so that it's on him too. Dean said that Donatello's assessment of Jack was that he was good as far as he could tell. When Rowena refuses to cooperate, Jack blasts her back to her apartment. She calls Sam, and he said they just left her place, and she said Jack is using magic to bring Mary back but there's no body which the spell requires, and necromancy is delicate even under ideal circumstances and that she fears he'll bring back something terrible.
Jacinda breaks into Rowena's residence, and is killed by magical spells that is protecting the location from intruders. Sam and Eileen's ghost head to the place to use a Restoration spell to resurrect Eileen from the spirit world. They find the room in the state it's in and Jacinda's dead body lying on the floor. Sam finds tarot cards, and self-help books, but not the revitalization spirit spell. Eileen phases through the bookcase, into a secret room. She directs him to it, and he hits the hidden lever. Sam is reading Rowena's journals and tells Eileen that she kept journals. As he's looking through a spell book, the Restoration spell drops out. Sam explains the way the spell works, that the last time this spell was attempted was by Jack to bring Mary back but couldn't because there was no body to heal, and that Rowena designed an alternate version of the spell to resurrect someone without the body. Emily forces Sam to get her spells, and Dean comes in with a gun loaded with Witch killing bullets to use on the Witch Mother if Emily doesn't release Sam. However, she uses voodoo, twisting the doll's arm which twists Sam's arm. The ghost of Jacinda manifests and throws Dean across the room with telekinesis. Sam knocks the voodoo doll out of Emily's hand, but the Witch Mother uses magic on him. Eileen's ghost appears pushes Jacinda away, saving Dean. She nods at Dean and disappears. The Witch Mother continues to use magic on Sam, slowly killing him as Emily twists the voodoo doll, and the ghosts Eileen and Jacinda fight. Dean uses the witch killing bullets on Emily, killing her. The Witch Mother attacks Dean, but Sam puts a Hex bag in her mouth, killing her. Jacinda is choking Eileen, and Eileen tells Dean to salt and burn her body, and he lights it on fire and her spirit goes up in flames.
