Roxanne Gilbert,[1] better known as Rockin' Roxy, is a recurring character in The Winchesters portrayed by Bridget Regan. Roxy is a "honey-voiced pirate radio DJ" who is "hijacking the airwaves of Lawrence, Kansas to broadcast a wicked new sound. Behind the mic, she’s got an electric charm and a rapidly growing fanbase. But as our heroes will sadly learn, Roxy’s listeners aren’t all of the human variety".[2] She is actually secretly the vessel for the Akrida Leader.
History[]
Background[]
Rockin' Roxy, whose real name is Roxanne Gilbert, was a pirate radio DJ based in Lawrence, Kansas. Before his possession, Roxy owned an apartment and had a girlfriend. At some point, she became the vessel of the Akrida Leader. The Akrida subsequently used her to collect the essences of monsters and used her pirate radio as headquarters.
The Winchesters[]
In Teach Your Children Well, The Akrida possessing Roxy, masked, took the essence of La Tunda after she had been killed by Mary Campbell.
In You're Lost Little Girl, Roxy is hear throughout Lawrence playing songs on her pirate radio station. Once her service is over, the Akrida possessing her waits outside her studio for another Akrida to deliver a piece of fabric made from the remains of Bori Baba. She takes out a small bottle and proceeds to extract and trap a piece of Bori Baba's essence with a smile on her face.
In Legend of a Mind, the Monster Club realizes that Roxy is the vessel of the Akrida Leader and uses her broadcasts to attract rare monsters to the area. As the hunters listen to her show, another Akrida in a human ship approaches the Akrida and reveals that Mary Campbell has not succumbed to their control. The other Akrida fears that the hunters may be a problem, but the leader reassures him by saying that they will eventually have the hunters as they wish.
In Reflections, the Akrida possessing Roxy and another possessing Officer Jones arrest Carlos Cervantez and Mary Campbell. He tells Mary that she wants to make a deal, her father for the Ostium, and gives Mary a specific hour and place for more information on the trade. After getting the Ostium back in working order, the Monster Club locates the new hideout of the Akrida. When confronted by the Akrida possessing Roxy and several others, Mary uses the Ostium to suck in an Akrida, as well as the one possessing Roxy, causing Roxy's body to collapse.
In Suspicious Minds, In search of information about Akrida Queen, Carlos and Lata track down Roxy, who has survived her possession and exorcism, to a motel room where she is intoxicated, drowning in alcohol. Roxy reveals that she remembers her possession in the form of nightmares and that being under Akriya’s control for months has cost her everything: her job, her girlfriend, and her apartment. Lata suggests to Roxy to remember what she went through, and then to completely erase the memories from her mind, which Roxy agrees to. Using a form of magical hypnosis taught to her by Djinn Tony Monroe, Lata places Roxy in a trance where she remembers the moment of her possession and her months under Akrida's control. Roxy is able to provide Carlos and Lata with a location in a underground place in Kansas a few hours' drive away. When Roxy wakes up from her trance, Lata prepares to erase her memories, but Roxy changes her mind, deciding to keep her memories so that she knows her ordeal helped stop the Akrida. Roxy begins to get rid of her alcohol, asking the Monster Club to give her a chance against the Akrida queen if they can.
