I want you to make me the best Blues man ever lived.
— Robert Johnson to a Crossroad Demon
in Crossroad Blues

Robert Johnson (May 8, 1911 – August 16, 1938) was a blues player.

Season 2Edit

Robert always dreamed of being a great blues player. One night, he made a deal with a demon to make him the greatest blues player. Ten years later, he was killed by a hellhound for the deal. He was subsequently taken to Hell.[1]

Robert Johnson, circa 1935.

Robert Leroy Johnson (May 8, 1911 - August 16, 1938) was a blues player who mysteriously died at 27 years of age. His composition, "Hellhound on My Trail", is rated as one of the 100 greatest musical works of the 20th century by NPR.

  • Legend has it that Robert sold his soul to a cross roads demon for his skills. In Rock Never Dies, Lucifer makes a joke about never learning how to play the guitar, possibly a reference to this legend.
