He was a priest at a church and knew the late Father Thomas Gregory.

Background

Sam and Dean investigated their case further by visiting the church where Father Reynolds worked at. They were under the pretense they had just moved into the area and were looking for a church. Father Reynolds told them about the people who committed murder. As they left the church, they noticed the altar for Father Gregory, and Father Reynolds told Sam and Dean about him.

He later found Sam doing a summoning ritual, and was furious, but was interrupted by Father Gregory's appearance. He too thought that it was an angel, but was surprised to see it was actually the ghost of Father Gregory. Reynolds was not too happy by what Thomas had been doing and told Thomas that men could not be angels. He gave Father Gregory his final rites and laid his spirit to rest.
