The Qu'ran is a collection of texts sacred to Islam and its followers, Muslims. The Qur'an is considered a revelation from God. It was said to be verbally revealed to the prophet Muhammad by the archangel Gabriel. It is the Muslim counterpart of the Hebrew Bible of the Christians and Jews.

The Qur'an contains passages that provide the tenets of faith of Islam. According to Sam Winchester, the Qur'an has mentioned Djinns several times. He gathers information on them, which leads him to tell his brother Dean Winchester that Djinns feed off people and prefer to choose massive ruins as their lair.
