- Sam continues to have nightmares of other worlds. After learning that God intends for the Winchesters to kill each other in the end, Sam speculates that he is seeing God's possible endings for them through a link created by The Equalizer when Sam shot him.
- Sam's first nightmare is of possessed by Lucifer. Dean tries and fails to kill Lucifer with the Colt and is then burned to death by Lucifer. The Lucifer of Sam's nightmare wears a white suit like Asmodeus and the Lucifer Dean encountered in The End.
- When Lucifer's eyes turn red, it's a true red not the reddish-orange he usually has.
