What's "sorry" to me? I spent millions of years crammed into that cage. Alone and afraid. Wishing, begging for death because of you!

A Primordial Entity Cage is a special extra-dimensional cage that is created by successfully casting Primordial Entity Trapping Spell, is powerful enough to trap a Primordial Entity. The Mark of Cain acts as both lock and key to the cage.

The Darkness' Cage designed by God to imprison the Darkness after she destroyed the worlds God created.

The Darkness' Cage seems to be located outside of existence, and the Mark of Cain acted as the key to the cage, and if there was no one to carry the mark, the cage door would open and the Darkness would find her way back into existence.

Although never seen, the Darkness says that the experience of being caged was terribly lonely and frightening and has even gone so far as to say that she would rather die a million times before going back to the cage.

History[]

Early history[]

In the beginning, the Darkness and God came into existence. Despite his sister's opposition, God created many worlds, in order to show her that there could exist other beings besides them. Refusing God's proposal each time, the Darkness destroyed all that he created.

Seeing her imprisonment as the only solution, God created four Archangels (Michael, Lucifer, Raphael, Gabriel) in order for them to help him defeat his sister.

After an extended period of time of battling her, God and his Archangels barely succeeded in sealing the Darkness away by tricking her, using a powerful spell that created what would later be known as the Mark of Cain, which was both lock and key to a extra-dimensional cage, which God entrusted to his most valued lieutenant and favorite son: Lucifer.

Season 10[]

In Brother's Keeper, after Rowena casts the Mark of Cain Removal Spell, the Mark of Cain is removed from Dean, and since there was no one to carry the mark, the door to the Darkness' Cage was opened and Darkness was released after eons of confinement.

Season 11[]

In All in the Family, God reveals that his plan to defeat the Darkness was to trap her and himself back in a cage, implying that the The Darkness' Cage still exists, and has been empty since it was opened. Later, he changed the plan to trap only the Darkness.

In We Happy Few, while discussing with God, Amara revealed that she spent millions of years locked in the Darkness' Cage alone and afraid, at some point even begging for death, and went so far as to say that she preferred to die a million times, and kill God a million more times before returning to the cage.

Then God tries to transfer the Mark of Cain from the Darkness to Sam Winchester and trap it back in the Darkness' Cage, and he nearly succeeded if the Darkness hadn't the overcome and the fatally wounded.

Season 15[]

In Our Father, Who Aren't in Heaven, when the Winchester find out that God cannot be killed without disturbing the cosmic balance, they starts to seek a way to seal God away in a Primordial Entity Cage like he did with the Darkness, and Sam mentions that "building the cage" is the most important thing that they have to do. Michael confirms that the same spell that was used to seal the Darkness can also be used to seal God.

In The Trap, after Dean and Castiel returned from Purgatory with the final ingredient, the Leviathan Blossom, they prepare the spell and Castiel offers himself to be the one to hold the mark, they cast the spell and create both the cage and a sphere that once broken, will open a rift to the cage and drag God in it. When in God's presence, Sam gived up on caging God, so God destroyed the sphere and cancelled the spell.

In a alternate timeline, Sam finished the spell and God was sealed away in the cage.

In Gimme Shelter, when trying to convince the Darkness to join him, Dean Winchester mentioned how God betrayed her and trapped her in a cage.

In Unity, Amara said that the Winchester will cage God, but when revealing to Amara the Winchester's true plan, he mentioned that she would be destroyed with him.
