He succeeds in killing a number of their relatives, including Bill who heads out onto the open water of the Lake. Peter almost manages to kill Jake's daughter-in-law and her son. |

Background
Several decades ago, Peter Sweeney was bullied by two other boys, Bill Carlton and Jake Devenhal who were supossed to be his friends, since he was the smallest amongst them. One day they decided to hold his head under the water in 'Lake Manitoc'. Before they realized what they had done, it was too late and Peter accidentally drowned, though Bill and Jake didn't intend to kill him. To cover up their tracks, they let his body sink to the bottom of the lake, and buried his bikes not far from the lake.

When Bill is killed and Jake offers to trade his life in exchange for his grandson's, Peter accepts the offer and takes Jake to the deeps of the lake. Peter's spirit is finally laid to rest.
