Pamela "Pam" was a friend of John Winchester and the wife of a man named Bill, she was close enough to John to be entrusted with looking after Sam and Dean Winchester in late 1983 after the death of Mary Winchester but was later possessed by a demon who served Lilith.
Background[]
When Lilith ordered her allies to capture Sam by any means necessary, she had a demon possess the body of one of John's friends, a woman by the name of Pamela who was known to the Winchesters as Pam. When John dropped his sons of at Pam's house in an effort to ensure the safety of his youngest son, Sam and Dean were unaware that the woman was possessed.
While cooking dinner, Pam explained that Bill had left the house and gone out of town only a few days prior and that they had a guest where upon opening the door, the demon revealed that the guest was Lilith who had come for Sam. When Dean ordered Sam to run, Pam insisted on going after him though Lilith told her not to as there was no need due to John not being in the area to protect his sons.
Death and aftermath[]
Once back at Pam's house, John entered only to be attacked by Pam and seeing no way out, he fought back in self defense before noticing that the woman before him had been possessed, he hit her with his gun before stabbing her in the chest and exorcising the demon out of her body.

- Although she is killed by John, the latter remarks that Pam had already died before he found her possessed.
