Mortality is a weakness that is the exact opposite of immortality. Mortals are susceptible to old age, severe physical trauma, blood loss, decapitation, disease, heart-failure, incineration, suffocation, snapped neck, etc.. Mortals also have a limited lifespan and will begin to weaken over time, eventually dying. Any being whether supernatural or not is suspectable to death (as a concept).
Although it is mostly humans that are mortal, some supernatural beings are also mortal, such as the Familiar, Special Children, the Amazons, among others (read below).
There have some beings that have been immortal, but the immortality had certain limits, such as the immortality only affecting age and not physical wounds. An example of semi-immortality is Rowena and Oskar.
Characters with this vulnerability[]
- Humans - Since humans don't possess any supernatural abilities, they are naturally mortal and are suspectable to anything. Their physical strength wanes once they reach old age. They are vulnerable to diseases, and any form of physical harm.
- Witches (Some) - Despite their mystical attributes, witches are still human and share many of the same weaknesses as non-supernatural beings. However, it is known that especially skilled witches can overcome these weaknesses through powerful magic.
- Familiar - Despite their supernatural abilities, Familiars are still mortal.
- Special Children - Although they have psychic abilities, they are also mortal, as they are still human.
- Graceless Angels - When an Angel is stripped of their abilities through the removal of their grace, they are rendered mortal.
- Cured Demons - When a demon is cured through the Demon Curing Ritual, they return to being human, and become mortal again.
- Cured Monsters - When a vampire or turned werewolf is cured with their respective cures, they are also rendered mortal, as they have been turned back into a human.
- Crocotta (Implied) - Crocotta may or may not be immortal, as one was easily killed by Sam Winchester stabbing him in the back.
- Muscas - Bullets were able to wound and kill them. Charlie also injured one by stabbing it in the back with a presumably ordinary knife.
- Rabids - Despite them being zombie-like humans diseased by The Darkness's Fog, they were still mortal as Sam easily slit the throat of one of them.
- Cloaked Figures - Bullets were able to wound and kill them. Claire Novak also killed them by stabbing their throat with a presumably ordinary knife.
- Amazons - Despite all their supernatural features, they are mortal and they can be killed as easily as a normal human, proved when Sam shot Charlene Penn and his niece Emma dead with an ordinary gun.
