The Monster Club Universe is an alternate universe where John Winchester and Mary Campbell form the Monster Club to hunt monsters in 1972. It is the main setting of The Winchesters.
History[]
Background[]
In the 17th century, hunter Joan Hopkins goes insane and, after consuming monster essences, becomes convinced that humanity is the problem and needs to be wiped out. Unable to kill Joan, hunters team up with the Men of Letters to banish Joan from the world. However, this results in Joan meeting the Akrida, monsters created by God as a failsafe to destroy all of existence in case he fails at the task himself. Joan becomes the Akrida Queen and dedicates herself to leading them to destroy all worlds.
Over the next few centuries, Joan leads Akrida invasions of the world, but the Akrida are always banished back to their own universe by the Men of Letters using the Ostium. Finally, after her last defeat in 1957, Joan uses every ounce of her power that she has left to wipe out the Men of Letters, removing the threat to her plans.
Presumably this universe was destroyed by God along with the rest of the Multiverse, but restored by Jack Kline following Team Free Will 2.0's defeat of God and Jack becoming the new God.
The Winchesters[]
After his death, Dean Winchester takes a detour through the Multiverse while driving through Heaven, hoping to find a universe where his family has a chance at a happy ending. In the process, Dean discovers this universe and the threat of the Akrida who are preparing for another invasion, this time unimpeded by the Men of Letters. Despite Jack's rule of no interference and the warnings of Bobby Singer, Dean intervenes to help the hunters of this world defeat the Akrida as they are a threat to his own universe as well and Dean's still-living brother Sam in particular. Dean provides this universe's version of John Winchester with a letter from his father and a key to the Men of Letters Clubhouse, leading to John discovering his legacy as a descendant of the Men of Letters.
Dean's efforts to nudge events along leads to John and Mary Campbell forming the Monster Club with Latika Dar, Carlos Cervantez and Ada Monroe to fight the Akrida and stop their invasion. Using the essences of rare monsters collected by the Akrida, specifically the Akrida Leader, Joan Hopkins is able to regain her strength and prepares to use a planetary alignment to open a portal and bring the Akrida in full force to the Monster Club Universe. However, Mary is able to kill Joan with the Impala which, being from a different universe, is able to harm Joan who can't be killed by anything of the Monster Club Universe. Joan's death results in the destruction of the Akrida, saving this universe and the rest of the Multiverse from their threat.
In the aftermath of the Akrida's destruction, Dean reveals to the Monster Club that he's a hunter from another universe, although he doesn't reveal his true name or that he's actually John and Mary's son. Although Jack admonishes Dean for his interference, Jack decides to let it slide and to allow Dean to finish what he started. Dean provides his parents with his hunter's journal to help guide them in hunting and the Colt, with a warning to watch out for Azazel and to kill him with the Colt if they see him, giving John and Mary the chance to prevent Mary's deal and the Apocalypse from occurring in this universe. Confident that he found what he was looking for, Dean is returned to his own universe and Heaven by Jack while John and Mary set out to figure out their future together as the rest of the Monster Club continues hunting.
