...Kiddo, how old am I? Go for it, put me out of my misery.
— Metushelah taunting Castiel
in Game Night

Methuselah is a long-lived immortal who offered refuge to Joshua after the Fall. He owned Orlando's Emporium, an antique shop.

History[]

Methuselah has been alive for an unknown but very long amount of time, enough for him to consider his long, everlasting existence to be "misery". After the Fall, he gave shelter to Joshua, whom he later called his roommate before saying that he made mean lasagna.

Afterward, Joshua left him and returned to heaven, but not before casting a replica of Dean's Amulet in an attempt to contact God, which went unanswered.

Season 14[]

Anael brought Castiel to Methuselah's shop to find an item that Joshua used to contact God. Methuselah was not welcome to them, and when Anael asked him about the item, Methuselah suggested that they just ask Joshua. Anael informed him that Joshua was dead, and Methuselah retorts that they are already out of luck.

Upset with Methuselah's behavior, Castiel threatened to burn him down along with his shop, and Methuselah tauntingly told him to do it. Castiel then demonstrated a little bit of his power, and Methuselah changed his mind, informing the angels that the item was stored somewhere in his store and that, as angels, they should know it when they see it.

Castiel finds Joshua's amulet, and Methuselah tells him that Joshua forged it after the Fall. When Castiel's attempt at contact goes unanswered, Methuselah tells him that the same thing happened to Joshua.

Powers and Abilities[]

  • Immortality - By unknown means, Methuselah achieved immortality. It was implied that he cannot be killed by any earthly method, but can be easily killed by angels, leaving the potency level of his immortality uncertain.

Appearance[]

Lore[]

In the Bible, Methuselah was the grandfather of Noah. He was said to have died at the age of 969, marking him as the longest-lived person in the Bible.
