Mercury (Hermes in Greek mythology) is a Roman-Greek God of messengers, roads, thieves and travelers and claimed by Lucifer to be a Pagan god. He is the son of Zeus (Jupiter), God of the sky and Maia. He serves as prime messenger for the Gods of Olympus and other pantheons. He is portrayed by John Emmet Tracy He is the desk clerk of the hotel in which the other gods gather to discuss the Apocalypse. He is the one who obtains blood from Sam and Dean, so Kali could bind them to her. He betrays their location (and thus the location of the Winchesters) to Lucifer, resulting in his murder, alongside nearly all the other gods, save for Kali, who was saved by the Archangel Gabriel.

Mercury was very slick and slim. He was dressed in a red dress suit and had black hair.

Mercury doesn't care for humans at all, feeling no remorse in killing, cooking, and capturing them. However, he is respectful and well mannered. He was also sensible and suggested that the gods try to talk to the angels rather than fight them.
Powers & Abilities
Mercury as a pagan deity is more powerful than many other supernatural beings. He is also quite a strong pagan deity, and as such stronger than several other Deities.
Mercury's presence positively influences a dead herb's growth.
- Supernatural Speed - His primarily used ability. He could go from one place to another at a speed faster than sight. Because of this, he was probably the fastest entity to ever appear on the show.
- Reality Warping - He could influence the environment around him, and was able to transform the Elysian Fields Hotel from a abandoned wreck, into a four-star hotel.
- Supernatural Strength - Like all Deities, Mercury was naturally stronger than humans, he could casually overpower a grown man.
- Influence over Vegetation - He was able to restore a dead flower to its bloom.
- Invulnerability - As a god, Mercury could only be harmed by beings of great power, taking beings like Kali to harm him. Though, Lucifer easily killed him.
- Immortality - As a god, Mercury could live forever.

- Mercury has influenced the name of many things in a variety of scientific fields, such as the planet Mercury, and the element mercury, which it was formally associated.
- Mercury's actor, John Emmet Tracey, starred in Smallville as Dr. Alfonso (Dean Winchester's actor was Jason Teague).
- Mercury could be, like his Greek counterpart Hermes, a trickster, this could explain his ability to transform a dilapidated motel into a "5 star" hotel in Hammer of the Gods. This could mark the first appearance of a real trickster, as Gabriel was not a true trickster, just an Archangel pretending to be one.
