This unnamed Loup-Garou was used by the Men of Letters as a watchdog in order to protect the Monster Box.
History[]
At some point, the Men of Letters leave this Loup-Garou as a watchdog to protect the Monster Box. He is captured and lobotomized for the task by Jack Wilcox, the Men of Letters Master Physician who lobotomizes a number of monsters to act as watchdogs for the Men of Letters' most secure locations.
In 1972, the monster attacks John Winchester and Mary Campbell after they retrieve the Monster Box. Mary explains to John what the monster is, but their only silver blade is on the surface in Carlos Cervantez's van. Hiding, John cuts the shrapnel from Hank Murphy's silver cross out of his arm as a weapon, but Mary doesn't think that it will be enough to stop the watchdog. However, John knows that the shrapnel will piss it off and buy Mary enough time to escape. Leaving Mary to escape, John runs off to face the monster.
In the room containing the entrance, the watchdog attacks John, sending him flying. As the monster prepares to slash him with its claws, John stabs it in the chest with the silver shrapnel, causing the loup-garou pain. Mary drops Carlos' silver blade into the tunnels which Carlos had retrieved after spotting a sigil that he had recognized as warning about the loup-garou's presence. As the loup-garou charges him, John retrieves the blade and decapitates the monster, killing it. As John watches, the loup-garou's severed head growls for a moment before stopping. Emerging from the tunnels, John is left elated by his first monster kill.[1]

Loup-Garou appear to be a fairly strong type of monster.
