All these people kept coming with, like, casseroles. I finally had to tell them all to go away. You know, 'cause nothing says "I'm sorry" like a tuna casserole.
— Max Miller to Sam and Dean

Max Miller was one of the special children and could move things with his mind. He is the very first special child encountered by Sam and Dean.

History[]

Season 1[]

After experiencing premonitions of a man being killed, Sam and a skeptical Dean are drawn towards the Miller family. Max, who developed his powers approximately six months before the Winchesters meet him, has a strong control of his ability - telekinesis. He is using the ability to murder the people who abused him as a child. After killing his father and uncle, he turned on his stepmother, only to be stopped by Dean and Sam. Sam invites him to talk, Max eventually agrees. While Sam talks to him cordially, Max uses his abilities to idly spin a knife on its point. He bemoans his abuse, and Sam is sympathetic. Ultimately, Max is resigned to his vengeance, and imprisones Sam in closet Using his impromptu powers to burst free, Sam confronts Max one final time, after a horrific vision, using his telekinetic powers, Max hovered a gun between his useless step-mother and Dean, as Sam tried one final time to appeal to him. Finally broken and done, Max eventually turned the gun on himself and committed suicide, to Sam's horror.[1]

Season 2[]

In Simon Said, when discussing Sam's premonitions they bring up Max Miller and how every premonition Sam has is about the other kids Azazel visited.[2]

Telekensis

Powers and Abilities[]

  • Telekinesis: Max is a special child, like Sam, thus he gained his powers from being fed the demon Azazel's blood. Max used his powers to kill his father and uncle. He later telekinetically levitated a gun and shot himself in the head.

Appearances[]

Trivia[]

  • His mother died, pinned to the ceiling above his crib, presumably in the same manner that Mary died above Sam's crib. He had an abusive childhood.
  • His response to Sam suggests Max's powers started at the same time as Sam's - 'six, seven months ago'.
  • Max is featured in the Anime Series under the same name.
