Lori Sorensen's necklace was a necklace made of silver in the shape of a cross that belonged to Lori Sorensen.
History[]
Prior to it being a necklace, the silver was originally a hook belonging to Jacob Karns. After he was executed for his crimes, the hook was melted down and reforged kept at the St. Barnabas Church. It eventually became a church heirloom and came into the possession of Lori Sorensen when her father, Reverend Sorensen, gave it to her as a gift when she started school.
Not long after, the ghost of Jacob began targeting and killing people whom Lori came to see as immoral due to them doing things that she did not feel comfortable with such as her boyfriend Rich trying to make out with her when she did not want it, her roommate Taylor attempting to dress her in a way she was not comfortable with and her own father for having an affair with a married woman though only her father survived.
Hunters Sam and Dean Winchester, who were already working the case, noticed how Lori was the link between all three victims and sought to find out why. Believing it to be a simple case in which all that had to be done was salt and burn the bones, Sam and Dean realized something was wrong and that they had missed something when Jacob attempted to kill Lori's father with her and Sam present. Later that night, Lori made her way back to the church to pray under the belief that she was the problem and that those around her were cursed.
The necklace is melted in a furnace by Dean Winchester.
It was at this time that the brothers had come across the information that Jacob's hook had been melted and reforged and so they returned to the church in order to melt all the silver present not knowing which object was tethering the spirit to the Earth. As Dean was left to melt the objects as Sam had found Lori crying, the two were attacked by Jacob until Sam noticed the necklace around Lori's neck. Upon asking if it was silver, Lori confirmed it was and Sam took it assuming it was the item he and Dean were looking for. Still dealing with Jacob's spirit, Sam kept Lori safe as Dean retreated down to the furnace below where he threw it into the fire.
The necklace was then engulfed in the flames and melted. Due to this, it banished Jacob. Now safe, Sam, Dean and Lori left the church.
