Lizzie Borden (born July 19, 1860 - June 1, 1927) is a woman who hacked her mother and stepfather to death while possessed by a demon.

History

Background

In 1892, Lizzie was possessed by a demon and hacked her mother and stepfather to death with an axe. She was acquitted at trial and lived the rest of her life in Fall River, Massachusetts where she was hounded and persecuted by the townspeople. After her death, her home was eventually turned into a bed and breakfast and a tourist attraction.

The Men of Letters learned of Lizzie's possession and created a file on it along with every other possession for three hundred years. This file was kept in the Men of Letters bunker in Lebanon, Kansas.

Season 8

In Clip Show, while looking for clues on how to cure a demon, hunter Dean Winchester goes through the Men of Letters files on demonic possessions. When Dean brings a batch of them to his brother, amongst the files is the file on Lizzie's possession.

Season 11

In Thin Lizzie, the Winchesters investigate a murder at the Lizzie Borden Bed and Breakfast that is supposedly haunted by the ghost of Lizzie Borden. The Winchesters are able to debunk Lizzie being a ghost haunting the place and eventually discover the killer to be a young woman whose soul was consumed by Amara.

Before consuming the soul of Len Fletcher, Amara shows a fascination with Lizzie's murders. Though Len believes Lizzie to be innocent, Amara tells him that Lizzie definitely committed the murders, "you can see it in the eyes."

Season 15

After God releases all of the souls from Hell, the ghost of Lizze Borden attacked Sam Winchester and Castiel along with John Wayne Gacy, Mary Worthington and another male ghost.

In Raising Hell, she try to kill Dean and Arthur Ketch but is ordered to stop by Kevin Tran. Later, Lizzie's soul was trapped in the Soul Catcher by Rowena MacLeod along with all of the other ghosts haunting Harlan.

In The Rupture, when Rowena tries to perform the Rafforza l'incantesimo, she has a flashback to Lizzie's attack in the street along with the actions of several other ghosts and announces that she can't strengthen the barrier as it is too weak and the ghosts are too strong.
