History[]
Jody is dabbing her son, Owen, with a wet rag, on the couch, to colden the fever. She asks if he feels any better. Owen said he's so hungry to his mother, she said she'll make him some soup, and if that's okay and he said okay. Jody's husband, Sean, is on the phone, and says he doesn't know what else to tell him, that they checked the thermometer three times and it's 111 degrees. Jody reaches for the phone, indicating that she'll talk to him. He told the doctor to hold on and hands over the phone, as Owen calls out that he's hungry and Jody asks Sean to take the soup to him. She continues the conversation with Doctor Dwight. She tells him she doesn't know how to explain and that's the reason for calling him. She hears a loud noise from the other room, and puts the phone down to go check. She said Shawn and Owen's names, as she sees blood on the couch and a large amount on the floor, as she goes around the other side to see Owen eating his father. Sam grabs her and brings her outside, as the Zombie comes after them. She asks to how to kill the monster if that's what needs to be done, and Sam replies headshot. She said their going to need lots of weapons, and Sam said to start by rounding up the townspeople and taking them to a safe haven. She said the only thing she can think of is the sheriff station. He cocks his gun to go in for the kill, and Jody grabs his arm, before releasing it. Sam heads into the house and puts down Owen, and Jody flinches outside.
Jody pulls up to her cabin, with Annie Jones beside her. Annie doesn't look sure about it, and Jody asks, what is it too rustic for her taste. Jody said it wasn't so bad, and that she used to come there as a kid with her parents, and with, and hesitates as shes about to say family, recollecting the painful memories of their deaths. She said it's almost nicer than how its look on the outside, and she directs Annie out of the car and unlocks the handcuffs. She said for her information that the woods around there are really to get lost in if one doesn't know their way around, but that she knows it like the back of her hand, this is meant to scare Annie from running away. They head inside, and as Jody is making food, Annie takes off a crucifix from the wall, and said, you know this doesn't work right on vampires, and Jody replies that's not why she has it. She picks up a picture and asks if it's her family, and Jody said yes it is. Annie asks, well, where are they. And it hurts too much to think about, and in the silence, Annie said, that must mean they're probably just dead. Jody rips the picture from her hands, and said there were about a thousand more polites ways to have said that, but that she'll give her another chance seeing as she was raised by monsters. She said she has to be exhausted, not having sleep at all the night before and that she can make up a bed, but Annie said she was fine. Jody gets in from chopping woods, and brings in the fire wood to stoke the fire. She doesn't see Annie around anywhere, and calls her name. Dean is calling her number to tell her that the vampire use Annie to distract and lure victims, as a way for the vampire nest to move in. But Jody is preoccupied and doesn't answer. She opens the back door, but doesn't see anything. She goes into one of the rooms, and sees her sleeping on the bed. She goes to put a blanket over her, but she jolts away, and Jody tells her it's okay. She tells her she made her a sancwich and that it's out in the kitchen if she wants it. Jody returns Dean's call, and asking what's up. Dean said it was all apart of the vampires' plan to use Annie to set them up, and Jody sees someone pulls in the driveway. Jody draws her matchete, and a vampire breaks through the bedroom window and takes Annie. As she runs after her, another vampire closelines her. He prepares to turn her, but the pack leader Cecily orders him to leave. The next morning, Sam and Dean find Jody on the ground. Dean said they'll head back to the nest to wipe out the vampires, but that Jody needs to stay there, but Jody said the girl depends on her and wants to save her. Dean said she's worse than most monsters they kill, but Sam said it remains to be seen if their going to kill her or not. After the mission, Dean drops her at the cabin and she walks over in her leg brace and tells them they were right that she let her emotions cloud her judgment. Jody heads inside to use the vampire cure on Annie, who was transformed into a vampire.
Dean knocks on Jody's door, with Sam right next to him. She opens the door, wow what's up, and Dean said be all means they'll come in. They said the finished a hunt in Brookings, and she said taking a shower first never crossed their minds. Sam said they figured to stop by, to see Claire and Alex. Jody responds that would be be fun, but that their in Omaha for the weekend at a Radiohead concert. She said, she can make them something if their up for it. Their watching TV and Dean said there's no way she's a romcom person, that shes a badass Sheriff chick. The phone rings and she said if they'll excuse her. Jody is packing her bags to pay her respects to Asa Fox at a gathering in his memory that's being held. Sam said, wait a minute, isn't he the guy who killed 5 wendigos in one night. She said that's all true, and a while back he tried to the deal of trying to trick her into thinking he was an FBI Agent, but she got the better of him. Sam and Dean said they'll tag along.
Mary is not really herself, and knocks on Jody's door. Jody answers, and asks what's shes doing there. That night, the Winchesters show up. They see Jody with an ice pack on her eye, and Sam says hey to Annie. She points to the chair, where Mary is all tied up. Jody said when Mary punched her out of the blue, she thought she was a demon. She said she had no idea brain washing could be so thorough. She said if it wasn't for Annie using her vampire powers on Mary, Mary probably would've won that fight. When Jody touches Dean's arm, Mary said aww that's sweet and to go ahead and have him, she doesn't want him anymore. Sam escorts Lady Bevell and tells her to reverse the mind control, but Toni said it's an impossible task and that the real Mary is hiding behind impenetrable psychic walls. Dean loads his gun, ready to kill her now that she's no longer useful, but Sam said Ketch keeps calling Mary's phone. The Lady Bevell said even with all their skills and abilities that their out of their depth with the Men of Letters. Jody feeds the hunters making themselves at home. Sam said there's no telling what the Men of Letters will do next, and that their more than dangerous, inspiring the hunters alike to join the fight.
