These kids today, with their texting and murder.
— Jake Miller
in LARP and the Real Girl

Jake Miller was the sheriff of Oakland County, Michigan, where the live action roleplaying game Moondoor was played. He was at the scene of Ed Nelson's unusual death, and was surprised at the rapid arrival of FBI special agents Taggart and Rosewood, Sam and Dean Winchester respectively. He had his deputies bring in a suspect, Lance Jacobsen, and gave Sam and Dean the opportunity to interview Jacobsen first.

After Sam and Dean questioned Jacobsen, they went to a computer to verify his alibi, and he died in the interrogation room. Sheriff Miller showed them the graphic surveillance of Jacobsen's death, and left to go wash himself in hand sanitizer in case Jacobsen was contagious.
