Irv Franklin was a hunter and an old friend of the Winchesters and Bobby Singer.

Irv once worked a case with Bobby concerning werewolf Siamese twins in Saskatoon, Canada. Irv also worked a shapeshifter case with Tracy Bell in Sacramento.
Season 9[]
He was kidnapped by Abaddon and tortured into giving up the names and locations of hunters Pete and Tracy Bell. Later, Tracy and Irv were used as bait to lure the Winchesters to Eugene, Oregon. Once freed, Irv planned to take on the demons himself in order for Sam, Dean and Tracy to make their escape. He felt that it was his fault that they were in the predicament. Although Sam disagreed with his reasoning, Irv was immediately killed by a sniper. His death was later avenged when Gadreel killed all of the demons involved in his kidnapping and when Dean killed Abaddon.
