Ichi was an American hunter and frequent visitor of the Harvelle's Roadhouse during the 1980s. He was killed by a shapeshifter in the form of a heeler in an attempt to help John Winchester and Hunter find a hellhound so that John could understand what killed his wife, Mary Winchester.
History[]
In 1982, Ichi encountered a Gray Lady in a graveyard which put him off entering one for the rest of the year.
Around the 19th of October, 1983, he picked up on a case in Baldwin Pass, Arizona, United States where a woman reported being attacked by a man that could jump fifteen feet into the air and had eyes like fire but authorities believed it was the work of a mountain lion that had been in the area although Ichi eventually came to the conclusion it was a heeler.
After the death of Mary in November of that year, John visited the Roadhouse with Hunter and after being told to sit down and relax by Ellen Harvelle, John met his new ally who explained his story. The latter then explained his encounter in October with John wondering what a heeler was with the more experienced hunter explaining that it was a man who was known to the British people during the 1800s as Springheel Jack due to his ability of being able to jump higher than the average human, Hunter then offered to come along with John as the Winchester still had to learn more about being a hunter and although John refused to take his sons, Sam and Dean Winchester along, they were left in the care of Ellen's niece and the three men then left.
In the woods, Ichi, Hunter and John came across a cabin though found it empty before a shapeshifter appeared in the form of the heeler and attacked John. When Ichi shot the creature in the leg, it escaped and he went after it which resulted in his death.

The shapeshifter would then assume the form of the deceased hunter where it then returned to Hunter and John. During the drive back to the Roadhouse, John questioned his associate on where his leg wound came from though Ichi insisted it was from scraping it against a tree branch. Once outside the Roadhouse, Hunter eventually admitted to the Winchester patriarch that the man with them had been dead since he had gone after the heeler much to John's confusion.
Once it became apparent that the two were dealing with a shifter, Hunter ordered John to kill the monster who did so though became shaken up by it with the kill being witnessed by Ellen and Dean with neither not knowing the man shot before them was a monster.
