Hypolyes was a dragon that was created by and loyal to Eve.

Background[]
Dragons were initially confined to the deepest and darkest portions of the planet. When dragons began to question why beings of their strength were kept from having more territory, they began to leave their intended niche. Hypolyes was a perceptive dragon who understood why dragons were limited in territory. He went to Purgatory and talked to Eve, who realized she has instilled too much power to her dragons. Eve loved all her children equally and she feared the dragons would end up killing the other monsters, and, ultimately, the dragons themselves. This threatened to disrupt the balance between humans and monsters. Hypolyes, offered to sacrifice himself to let Eve use his blood to create special magic swords that can kill other dragons, including the Excalibur, Sword of St. George and the Sword of Bruncvik.
