Host of Heaven

The Host of Heaven, or the Holy Hosts, as described by Raphael himself, refers to the army of Angels living in Heaven.

unknown if there's more of his type; he may be the only one.

A fair amount of them are either defunct, deceased, or still alive but no longer a member. Michael's in the cage, leaving its management unknown.

Lucifer says, "almost all of Heaven wants to see me dead", which implies that some were on his side, in other words rebel angels.

Members

This here only documents angels who are still a part of it, and those who used to be.

The high-executives In other words, the generals:

• Michael (formerly) - He, after God's departure, became the official Viceroy/ruler of all of Heaven's angels. But since his imprisonment, he is no longer its leader.
• Lucifer (rebelled) - Before disobeying God, Lucifer was an extremely powerful force in God's heavenly alliance. But since his fallout, he isn't part of the host anymore.
• Raphael - (deceased) Raphael, before Lucifer's banishment, was an executive angel, whose initial designated ranking is unknown, although it is known that he watched over prophets. But once Lucifer fell, Raphael fell directly under Michael.
• Gabriel - (deceased) Gabriel was a high-executive in the establishment, however his actual ranking is unclear. He was God's greatest messenger before he left heaven and masqueraded as the trickster Loki on earth.

Higher-up angels:

• Zachariah (deceased) - He, technically a Seraph, was an angel of high esteem, and largely recognized for his accomplishments and achievements, being a 6 millennia old angel. ia After his constant failure to secure Dean, Michael kicked him out, but decided to give him one more chance.
• Hester (deceased) - was made this when there were no leaders left. Sometime after the death of Raphael & Castiel AWOL, Hester started ruling Heaven.

Garrison leaders:

• Anna (deceased) - Anna was originally a garrison leader, over Castiel, Uriel, and Balthazar. But when she fell and removed her Grace, that position was revoked. She eventually did reclaim her Grace, and Michael eventually "fired" her.
• Castiel (formerly) Castiel's was the captain of his garrison succeded Anna. He was for the most part a very obedient/ committed angel. But ever since he banished his superior, Zachariah, he was unable to return to Heaven.

Average Angels:

• Uriel - (deceased) He was below Castiel. He was balled a "Specialist" by Castiel, the meaning of which is unclear. However, he was a considerable powerful angel given his type.
• Hester - Formerly before her demise, she was a member of Castiel's garrison.
• Virgil - Sometime after his creation, he was put in charge of all of Heaven's weapons. Despite this, he was a normal angel nonetheless.
• Balthazar - (deceased) Balthazar was a friend of Castiel. In all actuality, he really wasn't a strong angel. At the fist chance he got, he quit the Host, involving himself in Earth's song; wine, thievery, etc. At one point after Michael and Lucifer were imprisoned, he moonlighted as a Crossroads Demon on earth.
• Rachel - (deceased) Her official ranking is unknown, however when Castiel rebelled, and formed his own battalion of angels, Rachel was his lieutenant.
• Inias - Inias was a fellow Angel in Castiel's garrison, a brother. He seemed very fond Cas, with his attitude in "Reading Is Fundamental".
• Hester - Formerly part of Castiel's garrison before ruling Heaven.

Below-average angels:

• Joshua - He is significantly lower than most other angels, however he has an important occupation, in cleaning/monitoring God's Throne Room. which appears as a garden, and he is the only one God directly speaks to.
• Cupids - A special class of angels, they rank below other members of the host. They are tasked in fating specific couples and bloodlines to meet and mix, depending on Heaven's interests. John Winchester and Mary Campbell was a high priority for the Cupids.

Season 6

Angels appear.

It was mentioned by name in this season. Shortly after the Apocalypse was stopped, Raphael called an assembly of the Host, in which angels would either align with him, or die.

Season 7

Angels appear.

After absorbing every soul in Purgatory, along with the Leviathans,

A minute portion of the Host

God's oldest creation, Cas, in "Meet The New Boss", once he returns to Heaven, slaughters any remaining Angel who aligned with Raphael during the riot.

Later, two from his garrison, specifically Hester and Inias, come to earth to secure the Prophet, Kevin Tran. Hester is killed, and Inias returns to Heaven.

Castiel reveals that his garrison and all the angels who were posted on the earth are dead as the leviathans killed them all. It's unknown if any of the garrison survived or if heaven has sent a new garrison to watch the earth now that the leviathans are leaderless.
