Hellhound-Seeing Glasses are spectacles made of glass that have been scorched in holy fire, through which people wearing them can see hellhounds which are invisible. The Winchesters created them in order to complete the first of three trials to be able to shut the gates of Hell

Physical Appearance[edit | edit source]

The hellhound-seeing glasses look like regular glasses and the glass in the spectacles are see through. The glasses appear to a be a normal set of reading glasses.

Overview[edit | edit source]

In order to complete the first trial the Winchesters must kill a hellhound and bathe in its blood. They find a hellhound case in Shoshone, Idaho. Kevin Tran calls them and tells them how they can see hellhounds from information he received from the Demon Tablet. He tells that hellhounds are only visible to damned souls or through glasses scorched with holy fire. Dean makes two pairs of hellhound glasses by gathering holy oil from the trunk of the Impala, pouring a little on the ground, lighting it and scorching both glasses through the holy fire. The hellhound they were hunting was Crowley's hellhound. It was killed by Sam Winchester with the Demon-Killing Knife. The glasses worked and both brothers could see the hellhound.

In Somewhere Between Heaven and Hell, Sam and Dean use these glasses again to hunt the hellhound Ramsey. Though Sam lost the glasses in the battle, he was able to figure out Ramsey's movements even without them and kill her with an angel blade.

Procedure[edit | edit source]

To make hellhound glasses you need the following ingredients:a pair of glasses, holy oil, and matches or a lighter. The holy oil must be lit and the glasses should be scorched by the flames. After doing this the glasses will allow the wearer to see hellhounds.
