Guthrie was a Crossroad Demon and a trusted servant of Crowley.
Background[]
History[]
Much of Guthrie's life before working for Crowley is unknown, other than the fact that he used to be a Crossroad Demon. He is notable for being the only demon allowed in Crowley's personal quarters.
Season 10[]
Guthrie is first seen as one of the demons standing in Crowley's throne room.[1] He also informs Crowley about Castiel's condition, adding that it is a good opportunity to eliminate the angel since he is weak. Crowley instead orders Guthrie to follow Castiel and keep an eye on him.
Later on, Crowley has a vision caused by Rowena which shows him various demons, including Guthrie, stabbing Crowley, with Guthrie delivering the killing blow.
Guthrie finds Rowena snooping around Crowley's throne room and tries to stop her. Rowena tries to smooth talk her way out but Guthrie remains unfazed. Later, while Guthrie is busy filing away documents, Rowena informs him that Crowley wants him to retrieve the First Blade from Crowley's crypt. Guthrie is initially skeptical since Crowley only gives him orders face to face, but Rowena threatens him by mentioning that she was to one to expose Gerald as a traitor.
Guthrie does retrieve the Blade, though he refuses to hand it to Rowena, choosing instead to give it to Crowley personally. Rowena retaliates by stabbing him with an angel blade, killing him, but before she can take the Blade for herself, Crowley arrives and demands to know what happened.
She lies by saying Guthrie had stolen the Blade and tried to attack her. Because of the vision, Crowley is convinced Guthrie is a traitor.
