|“||You’re gonna fight God. That’s the stuff of heroes, right? So, you’re gonna need the luck of heroes. Hercules, Cú Chulainn, Gilgamesh. I helped them all! I can help you, too.||”|
Gilgamesh was a ancient mesopotamian mythological hero, and most likely a historical king of the Sumerian city-state of Uruk.
Several millennia after God created the lesser deities, the roman goddess of luck, Fortuna, who favored those she deemed "true heroes", encountered Gilgamesh and gave him luck in his reign/adventures.
In 2020, Fortuna mentioned Gilgamesh, along with Hercules and Cú Chulainn as examples of "true heroes" that she has blessed with luck, though Dean Winchester later states that she didn't really give them the luck of Hercules.
- Gilgamesh was one of the many mythological heroes that Fortuna deemed worthy and helped along the millennia, others include Hercules, Cú Chulainn, Sam Winchester and Dean Winchester.
- In ancient mythology, Gilgamesh was the son of the Mesopotamian goddess Ninsun and the mortal king Lugalbanda.
