The Fruit of the Tree of Life is the fruit taken from a Tree of Life in Syria.

Physical Appearance[]

As seen in the Scoobynatural, the fruit appears like a mangosteen with brownish skin. When crushed, however, the content of the fruit similar to red fig.[1] Other than this, any special characteristics of the fruit are currently unknown.

History[]

After getting the ritual to open a rift into Apocalypse World from Donatello Redfield's mind, Castiel identifies one of the ingredients as the Fruit of the Tree of Life.

While searching for Blood of A Most Holy Man, Sam and Dean comment that Castiel is searching for the Tree of Life in Syria to get the fruit.

After returning to the Men of Letters bunker, Castiel reveals that he has gotten a bag of the fruit. According to Castiel, he had to battle a clan of djinn guarding the tree for it. Castiel killed most of the djinn and bargained with the rest, possibly leaving Castiel married to the djinn clan's queen. When Castiel got sucked into Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!, he dropped the bag with the fruit and a few spilled out.

After getting all of the needed ingredients, Sam used the fruit along with the blood, the Seal of Solomon and Gabriel's grace to open a rift to Apocalypse World.

After Sam traps him in Apocalypse World, Lucifer informs Michael of all the ingredients they need for the ritual, including the fruit.

Trivia[]

  • While it's unknown if it has a similar history to real world Christianity. In Christianity the Tree of Life is a holy tree in the Garden of Eden that originally gave immortality. It was when Adam and Eve were expelled from the Garden, that the deprivation of the fruit of the tree began them to age.
