Lily Sunder uses this magic against Ishim
Enochian Magic is an extremely powerful form of magic that is mainly practiced by angels. It is closely related to enochian language. Because there are many variations of angels, there are also many variations of angel magic that is specific to the angel. For example, while angels are known to possess highly advanced and very powerful angelic magic with the ability to banish demons, resurrect the dead, and travel through alternative dimensions, other angels are unable to achieve these feats of magic. However, angels can be limited on what they can do. This depends on heaven's laws or who is in command at the time, the factor of strength each angel's grace is, as well as other magic at play like sigils designed to weaken angels. Some other supernatural beings such as Eve and Leviathan can cut angels off from their power and prevent them from using their abilities.
Enochian magic is not exclusive to angels, however. Humans, demons and other beings, like the Whore of Babylon, well-versed in Enochian can use or counteract this magic. It has been shown that if humans use certain Enochian Magic, it takes a toll on the caster's soul, draining it until they lose the ability to dream, lose the need to sleep, and eventually, use their soul up until it's gone, as were the cases of Jack Kline and Lily Sunder.
Angelic Grace, the source of angels' powers, is also the energy source that keeps Heaven in its place. If there isn't a sufficient amount of Angels in Heaven or an immensely powerful one, Heaven will collapse overtime and all the souls will be subsequently returned to Earth.
History[]
With the loss of his archangel grace, Jack Kline's Nephilim body fell out of balance between his angel and human halves and started to deteriorate and eventually caused him to die. With the help of Castiel placing his soul back into his body from Heaven and the ritual taught to him by Lily Sunder, Jack was able to use Enochian magic to harness a small part of his soul to stabilize his condition to stay alive. With Enochian magic, he was able to use a part of his soul to use his previous powers, but burned off pieces of his soul in the process each time. When killing Michael using this magic, Jack burned off his entire soul.
Powers and Abilities[]
- Immortality - Using Enochian magic, Lily was able to make herself immortal. However, this effect only lasted as long as she was using her magic and she began aging rapidly when she stopped.
- Invulnerability - Jack was able to quickly recover after being blasted by Michael, despite showing brief pain from the attack.
- Regeneration - Once Jack first used Enochian Magic, he was able to recover from the condition that originally caused his death, he was even able to continue recovering from such ailments over time.
- Immunity - Lily has displayed an immunity to angelic abilities.
- Telepathy - Though a century long honing of Enochian magic , Lily was able to hijack angel radio and listen to what the angels are saying.
- Super Strength - Lily is stronger than most humans, able to fight against a lower-level angel such as Benjamin fairly evenly. She was able to kick Castiel across an alleyway, but caught him by surprise when doing so.
- Photokinesis - Lily has displayed the ability to emit a blinding blast of light to disorient her opponents.
- Healing - Lily has displayed the ability to heal herself in a similar manner to how an angel heals another being. Using a ritual, Lily was able to cure Jack's fatal condition and save his life.
- Telekinesis - Lily has displayed the ability to move objects and people with her mind. She was strong enough to throw Ishim across a room, but could only hold him back a short time before he fought through it.
- Localization - Lily was able to track down the angel Benjamin at the arcade where he was playing a game, and then later pinpoint another member of Ishim's Flight Castiel as she is seen bolt up from her bed where she was mediating and murmurs "Castiel".
- Angelic Exorcism - While Jack was using the power of his soul, he was able to forcefully eject and rip Alternate Michael out from Rowena's body.
- Energy Projection - Jack was able to project out powerful bolts of energy capable of knocking a full powered Alternate Michael off his feet.
- Molecular Combustion - After the Men of Letters bunker was assaulted by monsters, Jack disintegrated all of them using a powerful wave of energy.
- Pyrokinesis - Once Jack exorcised Michael from Rowena's vessel, Jack was able to completely burn away any and all remnants of Michael's true form, leaving only his grace behind.
