Ed Singer was Bobby Singer's father.
Season 7
Ed is seen to be a harsh and abusive man to his family. He was not very respectful to his wife and son. One night, during a family dinner, a teenage Bobby accidentally spills a glass of milk. Ed reacts violently, Bobby's mother attempts to protect Bobby and Ed hits her. Young Bobby gets a rifle, and Ed ignores him; thinking Bobby won't do it. Ed is proven wrong when Bobby shoots him in the head. He is buried behind the woodshed.
Confronting the old version
An older Bobby confronts Ed on being a horrible parent, Ed tells him Bobby he breaks everything he touches. Bobby tells his father he is wrong; Bobby tells his father that he adopted two boys and they grew up to become heroes. Bobby then tells his dad he can go to Hell.

Trivia
- Oddly, Ed does not return as a Zombie in the Episode Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid. This is likely as he was not well-loved in life, so re-killing him would not bring about much emotional trauma or strain as opposed to many of the others.
