The unnamed dragon was a dragon whose dragon fire breath was taken. It's unknown if he had to be killed to do this.

It was one of the powerful artifacts Terry collected. He sprayed it at Dean to attack him. As he was about to slice Sam with a scimitar, Dean shoots him in the back, killing him.
