For thirty years, Dean resisted Alastair's offer to abuse souls in exchange for relief to his torment, telling him to "stick it where the sun shines", but eventually his will broke, and he got off the rack and maliciously ripped the woman apart, taking all the horror he endured out on her, losing count of how many souls he tortured. The shedding of her blood by a righteous man broke the First Seal.
