David Ackers was at the August 12th, 1958 when the initiate was revealed possessed by Knight of Hell Abaddon and killed the entire Men of Letters' American Chapter, slaughtering Ted Bowen and another elder, while Larry Ganem is blinded. David Ackers attempted to exorcising Abaddon but he was surprised that it didn't work. Abaddon grabbed him by the throat and then broke his neck. After that, Henry Winchester flees through time, leaving Larry as the sole survivor of the massacre.
