The Cleansing Ritual was a ritual that could be used to cleanse a cursed object breaking the curse set upon it.
Overview[]
After two thieves working for Bela Talbot steal the Rabbit's Foot, it ends up in the possession of Sam Winchester. After being informed of this, Bobby Singer warns the Winchesters that when the Rabbit's Foot is lost, it will curse Sam with bad luck that will ultimately kill him. After searching through his library, Bobby eventually finds this ritual to destroy the Rabbit's Foot and break the curse. However, by this time, Sam has lost the Rabbit's Foot to Bela. After retrieving the Rabbit's Foot, the Winchesters attempt to perform the ritual, only to be interrupted by Bela. After Bela instinctively catches the Rabbit's Foot after forcing Dean to toss it to her, she has no choice but to drop it in the fire and complete the ritual to destroy it to save herself.
