The sunglasses were a pair of shades God lent to Metatron.
Season 11[]
After arriving at Chuck's bar, Chuck had Metatron put on the glasses and Chuck revealed his true identity to him. Metatron asked why the amulet didn't work, and Chuck said it only works if he wants it to. Afterwards, Metatron took the glasses off and its unknown what become of them.

- Protection - The glasses were able to sustain Metatron as he looked at God's true form full blast, something only the Archangels, Death, and Amara have been able to do.
