He makes his way to the Welcome to Charming Acres signage on the road, with a vintage era family animation of a father, mother, and daughter with her doll, which tells its visitors to expect a city park, library, schools, grocery stores and shops. Sam and Castiel investigate the supernatural death, driving into Charming Acres. The scenery is picturesque, and everyone is happy go lucky. There's a movie theaters, with a large Scooby Doo 2002 poster, and a man is selling hot chocolate at a stand next to the Cunningham's decor. Castiel said its like stepping into the Saturday Evening Post, Sam gives him a weird look, like how does he know what that is. Castiel explains that he sometimes looks at the magazines quietly after Sam falls asleep at night, saying that they're very soothing. Sam said he tried calling Dean, but that there's no wifi service bars in the vicinity of the town (because there's no cellphone towers). Sam accidentally bumps into a man on the strip, who exclaims "Whoa Nelly". He said him and the woman standing next to him, his wife, are heading to the bake sale. Castiel tells him that their looking into the death of Conrad Martin, and asks if they know anything about it. The man thinks their a couple of G-men, and said his name is Justin Smith and his wife's is Cindy. Cindy said they should get going, otherwise they're going to be late. Justin said to answer their question, no, he hasn't heard about any deaths, but to ask at Harrington's and their milk shakes are the best anywhere. He looks at Sam's cellphone, and asks what it is. Sam asks what could be going on, and Castiel replies, maybe their Mormon, similar to the Omish which would explain their technology ineptitude and shelteredness. As they enter the ice cream shop, there's music been played on the jukebox. Chip says sweetheart, to his daughter, Sunny, to send in the order, but she said Pops that she already did. She serves the newcomers Sam and Castiel two cherry sundaes milkshakes, saying the first one is free. Chip asks if she can make him, but she cuts him off, saying a banana split with extra cherries for Miss Lewis and that she's already on it. He said he would lose his mind if it wasn't for her. He said word has been travelling fast of their arrival, due it being a small knit community. Sam said it's a nice town he's got here. He said he knows that they think the folks are a little bit old fashioned. Sam said their there about Conrad Martin, as Sunny is talking to the other waitress. He said the police came by and reported it was an aneurysm. The palor goes silent, as Castiel said that his head exploded like a ripe melon on the sun. Sam said they need more info on him, and Chip said he could point them to the boarding house he stayed at.

The Dowling's Boarding House

The Dowling's Boarding House

Sam and Castiel pull to Dowling's Boarding House. The maid answers the door, saying she knew they were coming because she got word of their arrival on the basis of it being a small town. She shows them to Conrad's room, simple in design. She said he had only been in town for a few weeks. She said she only rents to young men, and that moralistically it's not proper for young women to live alone. Sam asks for some coffee, and she gives him coffee from homegrown organic coffee beans. At Junstin's mansion manor, Cindy is preparing supper. He said he remembers what cellphones are now, and he's looking for his that he got in Houston, for his daughter Rose. But Cindy said they don't have a daughter, and like he's waking up from a trance, asks who she is. He experiences intense ringing in his head, similar to Conrad. He runs down the sidewalk by the floral fauna hedges, and his head explodes. The wife has emotionless, almost robotic look on her face, and simply says, "Honey". Castiel comes down the spiral staircase, next to the old wallpaper, looking for Sam. He spots the maid vacuuming the floor with an old fashioned non-electric vacuum, and he asks her is she's seen Sam. She said he said he was going for a walk and a milkshake. Castiel makes his way back to Harrington's. Sunny sees him, as she's resetting the tables, giving another welcome. He asks if she's seen Sam, and she said didn't you hear what happened to Mr. Smith. At the mansion, Castiel pays a visit and raps on the door. Mrs. Smith answers, and she introduces her husband, but it's not the Justin from before, it's Sam acting like Justin, dressed in a vest and formal. Castiel thinks it might be a spell or curse, but that he will snap the hell out of it. Sam tells him to watch his mouth for using filthy language, and tells him to wash his mouth out with soap.

The Mayor of The Town, Chip, confronts Castiel

The Mayor of The Town, Chip, confronts Castiel

Castiel heads back to the ice cream shop, and confronts Sunny, telling her he knows she's a witch. He tells her if she doesn't undo the curse she put on Sam if he will rip it from her mind, but she said it wasn't her and the one doing it is out of control. The Mayor Chip, two henchmen and Sam as "Justin" enter the scene, and The Mayor tells Castiel he's not being very nice. Castiel said it's Chip who was making all the bad things happen around town, and Castiel said he must be more than human. Chip said he's just a good samaritan, and said he's always had a lucky streak and had an intuition on what people were going to do or say, making him the king of poker night. But then the Mill got shut down and the Town lost all its funding, and that everyone started to move away no matter and nothing seemed to go right. He said he stared to hear voices, and the screamed at the voices to make things better. He said he had a thought that there were more people in the soda shop, and that hours later that very day, it was packed. He said this made him realize that he can make anyone do anything he wants. Castiel asked if he's some mind-control psychic, and he said he remade the town and gave everyone new lives, and he killed the ones who fought it to protect his home. Castiel said to Sunny that she knew all about this but did nothing, but Chip said she knew enough to play along but that his tricks never worked on her. He said Castiel is the only second person he can't manipulate, and Castiel said that's because he's not human. He directs the henchmen to kill Castiel, and Chip goes after Sunny who runs away next to the large spinning milkshake sculpture animatronic. Castiel easily defeats the henchmen, and Sam has an angel blade to him, and Castiel manages to snap him out of it by telling him to fight it and not to fail Jack. The Mayor said in this Town that he's God, but Castiel said no he's not God, that Chuck's God. As he's about to kill Sam, Sunny uses her powers on him, telling him to stop and be happy, putting him into a cationic state. Later, Sam and Castiel leave the town back for the bunker.
