“ | You're alive. Castiel, We saw Lucifer destroy you. | ” |
The Castiel loyalists were angels who chose to side with Castiel after The Apocalypse had been averted.
Powers[]
Weaknesses[]
- Angel Blades - Angel blades could harm and kill them.
- Archangels - Raphael was able to corrupt the hearts and minds of Castiel's loyalists.
- Demon Masses - Crowley's hordes of demons were able to render the loyalists unconscious with overwhelming force.
- Enochian Sigils - Concealment sigils can hinder the loyalists from tracking the user of the sigil.
Background[]
Season 6[]
Castiel's resurrection by God sparks a desire to follow Castiel in some of the angels, thus forming the first known group of Castiel loyalists. However, the angels were confused as to their purpose, and Castiel tries to explain to them that free will is now the meaning of things, and that nobody can tell them what to do anymore, as God is no longer in Heaven and the other ruthless archangels are gone as well.
Castiel's efforts prove fruitless, but he does garner supporters and manages to oppose Raphael, the last remaining archangel. Many angels fight for Castiel during the Second Heaven Civil War. However, none are aware of Castiel's new allegiance with Crowley. Both angels who find out, Rachel and Balthazar, are killed.
A handful of Castiel loyalists are spotted by Bobby and Dean during their attempt to stop Castiel from opening Purgatory and are attacked by an army of Crowley's demons.
Season 7[]
Castiel obtains tremendous power through the consumption of souls and is able to obliterate Raphael. He also annihilates all the Raphael Loyalists, sparing only those who serve him. His followers become aware of his self-proclaimed title of God, and become disappointed when he suddenly disappears.
Left without a leader, Castiel's followers disband and try to form factions and take over Heaven.
Season 9[]
It is unknown what happened to the remaining loyalists but it can be assumed that if any are alive, they have fallen due Metatron's expulsion of angels onto Earth.
Castiel develops new followers, beginning with Hannah, in his opposition against Metatron. He gathers followers from other fallen factions. When Castiel is accused of mass-suicide bombings as well as favoring the Winchesters over his own family, Castiel loses all of his followers.
He regains them after exposing Metatron as a heartless ruler.
Season 11[]
There is likely no Castiel loyalists left at this point, since Jofiel pointed out that Castiel is currently Heaven's most wanted, and earlier, Efram and Jonah chose to torture him for information rather than help him. The last known angel to genuinely care about him, Hannah, was also killed for her alliance.
