This ritual was performed by some Ancient Mayans in the past (including Inyo) to achieve immortality and enhanced physical attributes (including enhanced strength, stamina, speed, and durability).
Overview[]
In the ancient Mayan empire, about a thousand years ago, Inyo, an Ancient Mayan athlete, made a deal with the Mayan god Cacao through the high priest for immortality (as well as enhanced physical attributes such as strength, durability, speed and stamina), in exchange for two sacrifices a year: one in the time of planting and another in the time of harvesting.
As a result of this, Inyo was able to live for centuries and traveled from culture to culture, being any form of sportsman he could find. Eventually, he met his true love Betsy in the 1940s while posing as a boxer, Kelly Duran. When she grew older and he knew she would die at some point and he refused to live without her, he later committed suicide by driving his car off a bridge, thus killing him and ending his long life.
However this was not the end; earlier on, thinking he would never die, he signed up to an organ donor's plan, thus with his death, eight pieces of him were donated to other people, and the spell of Cacao passed on with the organs, granting each of them the same deal that Inyo had. It also dramatically changed them, and they all began killing to keep up with the sacrifices. They also gained a psychic link to each other.
Procedure[]
Anyone who wanted to achieve immortality this way must first make a deal with the Cacao. The deal must be made through a high priest. How to make the deal was not shown, however, after the deal is made, the people will achieve their immortality including all of the enhanced physical attributes. To renew it, two sacrifices must be made a year: one in the time of planting and one in the time of harvesting.
The sacrifice must be performed by ripping a heart from any individual the user desires. After the heart is obtained, an altar must be built with as many candles needed and arranged. Blood is later poured into a bowl where the heart is placed and whisker-like marks must be made on their face from the blood in the bowl. Along with the process, an Ancient Mayan incantation must be recited several times:
- K'uhul ajaw, Cacao, shi-jiiy!
- Translation:
- The divine god, Cacao, is born!
After that, the user must bite and eat the heart. After the sacrifice is performed, a ghostly wave will appear around the user and surround them. When their eyes glow bright red, the ritual is complete and the contract along with their immortality and their physical abilities renewed.
Effects[]
The ritual will give the participant immortality and enhanced physical abilities. However, because without the assistance of Cacao's high priest to make the deal, the deal will turn into something bad.
If the user died and any of their organs were transplanted to another, the deal will infect any recipients and compell them to kill more people so it never ended.
If the recipient is a particularly decent and good person, the deal may break their sanity and drive them into madness, since they won't be willing to harm others.
Breaking[]
The only known way to break the deal is to destroy the heart of the user. A fatal stab plunged into their heart will instantly kill them and break the deal forever. Any people with an organ transplanted from the user will also die in the process.
